And I feel like I've been here before Feel like I've been here before And you know it makes me wonder What's going on under the ground, hmm- Crosby, Stills and Nash A message comes through on social media from two musicians named John and Vincent. "Come to The Ghetto Palace tonight."  I have been wanting to revisit this unique venue since my first visit here as a spectator.  It is another place in my travels that is hard to explain the location of.  Even the GPS in my wife's Mustang had trouble finding it the first time. This is another installment in the Artist Spotlight Series. Briggs he struck me as being sardonic and having a very wry sense of humor. I immediately recognized his passion and talent for performing music and mentioned that he was our local answer to Donald Fagen .  He informed me that he was not a huge fan of Steely Dan . I have played with him at jams quite a few times, and have witnessed his skill on the bass, guitar, piano and drums.  He also is very adept on the technical side, formerly having a studio in New Orleans. He often acts as a lifeline for me, onstage if I am stuck.  Open jams can be difficult at my skill level, but I usually take some good lessons away. I will remember you, your silhouette will charge the view, of distance.......atmosphere.....-Yes I am fairly active on social media and I have joined many groups on facebook.  One of these is called "Music of the Florida Panhandle" which seemed like a nice bunch of folks in the local music scene.  It was apparently started as a forum for drummers, but administrator duties had been handed to a bass player named Ken.  He explained that he had been fairly busy lately organizing "Battle of the Bands" type events and had recently become ill.  He asked in the forum if anyone would be interested in being made an admin of the group.  Myself and another bass player named Tom both volunteered.  Why must it ALWAYS be the bass players?  I received friend requests from both of them and accepted.
