And I feel like I've been here before Feel like I've been here before And you know it makes me wonder What's going on under the ground, hmm- Crosby, Stills and Nash A message comes through on social media from two musicians named John and Vincent. "Come to The Ghetto Palace tonight."  I have been wanting to revisit this unique venue since my first visit here as a spectator.  It is another place in my travels that is hard to explain the location of.  Even the GPS in my wife's Mustang had trouble finding it the first time. Behind Blue Eyes

"But my dreams, they aren't as empty, as my conscience seems to be"- The Who Blue Water Lounge.  The name conjured up feelings of confusion.  It sounded tropical, but anything with 'Lounge' in the name always elicits in me that strange sense of nostalgia that goes along with 1970's -era bowling alley bar ambiance. Vato messaged me, "The Open Jam has been moved".   Thursday nights at The Blue Water Lounge.  "Can you make it?" he asks.  "Sure" I answered.  I really liked going out and playing. Thursday night I get home from work and pack up my bass, a 1976 # Fender Precision .  I look up the venue on my GPS and hop on my motorcycle with my gig bag slung over both shoulders.  Riding across the bridge over the bay I feel the wind drag of my load and begin to regret the decision.  I turn onto the side road and head down a dark stretch north.  The road comes to an abrupt end at the parking lot of the bar. I will remember you, your silhouette will charge the view, of distance.......atmosphere.....-Yes I am fairly active on social media and I have joined many groups on facebook.  One of these is called "Music of the Florida Panhandle" which seemed like a nice bunch of folks in the local music scene.  It was apparently started as a forum for drummers, but administrator duties had been handed to a bass player named Ken.  He explained that he had been fairly busy lately organizing "Battle of the Bands" type events and had recently become ill.  He asked in the forum if anyone would be interested in being made an admin of the group.  Myself and another bass player named Tom both volunteered.  Why must it ALWAYS be the bass players?  I received friend requests from both of them and accepted.
